Personality: Akin to her inner animal, Mahari is quite the curious little diva, but then again, it comes natural to such a ‘Princess’. Though she’s more than a bit spoiled and used to getting her way, Mahari’s not bitchy when she doesn’t. She’ll simply go about planning a different way to achieve her goal. A bright and bold young lady, Mahari adores being the center of attention; which alternately makes her popular and disliked. Never being afraid to speak her mind feeds into the sense of being ‘out of favor’, as some see her as a gossipy busy-body which is far from the truth. Sure, Mahari likes to be in the know but she would not suffer the spread of rumor and conjecture. As far as she would be concerned, if you don’t like someone, just tell them so and be done with it. There’s a good person beneath off of that glamour and pomp; an individual who may tend to be morally gray but is always fighting for the underdog.

Appearance: Mahari carries the features of her Hutu heritage with her shorter 5’¾” stature and her wider bone structure. She is curvaceous, carrying her 105 pounds in all the right girly type places. Warm café au lait skin is the perfect backdrop to a broad heart-shaped face, rounded nose and the plushest lips. Exotic, cat eyes glimmer an unearthly shade of Cyan. They are eyes you see rarely on a person of color and can be stunning to behold when full of mirth and joy. Her hair is long and a dark chocolate tone; she currently has it straightened and enjoys wearing it in a plethora of styles. Mahari enjoys vivid, trendy clothing and at times her palette can leave one in wonder. She also adores accessories and is often festooned with plenty of bangles and beads.

Strengths: Mahari is a Genet and as such, has a font of immeasurable curiosity and an uncanny knack for hiding and maneuvering which carries over into her human form as well. They are capabilities that allow her to obtain knowledge and commodities that others may not be able to. All are traits that empower her desire to help others in need; something she has learned from both of her parents. Mahari is naturally clever and has no qualms about using her feminine wiles to persuade another to do what she asks.

Weaknesses: They say that curiosity can kill the cat; well it can kill a Genet as well. Many of Mahari’s strengths are reversely weaknesses as well. Her surety in her own abilities does lead to an overestimation of her limits sometimes; while her outspokenness has caused more than its fair share of drama. She can be impulsive when she nears completion of a goal and her neutral morals leaves open the door to a path that best not be tread. Shifter weaknesses themselves are straightforward. As a Genet, Mahari tends to be smaller than others of her species, which means she can be overpowered while in animal form. And though a Genet is quick and small; it can be trapped easily if needed.

History: Mahari’s parents hail from the African nation of Rwanda. Her father, Dauid Sangare, is a Tutsi and was next in line to become Mwami, a King. Her mother, Ninon Uwase, is a Hutu. On April 6th, 1994 they were forced to flee their homeland when an extremist Hutu militia attacked their home with plans to murder both Dauid and Ninon during the ensuing genocide. With the assistance of their family and friends to two made it to France safely. It was shortly thereafter that Mahari was born.

In the following years the family has traveled, settling two other times in Vancouver, British Columbia and most recently in Oxford, England before making their way to the United States.
