Personality: Cruz is a little bit of a mystery, largely because most people do not bother to get to know him. He is generally judged based on appearances and people think him a freak and that's about it. But really Cruz is quite soft spoken, quite sweet and a good friend to have. He just doesn't have many friends. He is somewhat vulnerable because he has been picked on so much. He is accustomed to hunching his shoulders and trying to just get through the day as quickly as possible. He is clever and has a good sense of humour, when you get to know him. Cruz can be a bit hard to get to know though, because he is used to people pretending to befriend him only to make a joke out of it and laugh at him.

Appearance: Cruz has adopted a very androgynous look, although those who are observant can easily tell that he is a male due to the lack of chest and the adam's apple and something in the eyes. He is on the shorter side for a guy, standing only about five foot seven, and he is lean and slender. Cruz is pale and his hair is black and falls longish, about to his chin, worn straight. He is actually quite cute in a boyish way, and he wears eyeliner and mascara and nail polish and other bits of make up in a very punk rock sort of way. And that matches his style of dress which is quite punk and a little bit goth, lots of black with rips and safety pinks and arm warmers and gloves and various things.

Strengths: Cruz has a number of small strengths. He knows how to get out of a locker that he has been stuffed into, and he knows how to pick locks, learned when he was locked in places. He is a very good writer, especially in creative stories. He plays the piano, and has since he was five and is very good at it. He is very accepting of people and their differences.

Weaknesses: Cruz is human, and so he is at a disadvantage compared to species of the Night World. Because of his appearance, Cruz is a constant target for bullies. He has been beat up a number of times (once quite badly), has been stuffed in lockers and is constantly called names like 'queer', 'fag' and 'homo' (regardless of what his sexuality might be). A lot of people look down on him or scoff at him or make fun of him.

History: Cruz was born and raised in Aurora Heights. His young life was fairly normal, school and the like. Cruz developed his own style early on and thus started getting picked on early on. He was always a bit different, a bit strange, and never really fit in. He wasn't invited to parties or and social events and he was always picked last in gym or for groups in class

He gravitated to other freaks and outcasts, making a few friends but not many. High school saw the bullying increasing and he began to get beat up often or stuffed into lockers and other such things. In his sophomore year he was followed home by a group of bullies from school. They beat him up badly, and he was taken to the hospital with two black eyes, a concussion and a broken arm. He never told who was responsible for fear that they'd do worse.
