Personality: What isn’t there to like about Boone Kellogg? If you can get past the western drawl, the big belt buckles and the shit-stompers; you’ll find an outgoing and oddly old-fashioned young man. Soft-spoken, but not shy, Boone makes a fabulous friend. He’ll listen when you need an ear and provide you with unbiased advice if you request it of him. He will never speak out of turn, or offer an opinion if he is not asked. That would be rude, and Boone is nothing, if not polite. You’ll find yourself at ease in his presence, as if the world has slowed down its spin a bit for him and those around him. Just spending a few moments with Boone is a refreshing stress reliever. He is respectful of his elders and adores the ladies. Though he is quite charming, Boone is ever the gentleman. The type of boy to treat you to whatever is within his means; the type of boy to open doors for you and bring you flowers without having to be asked or reminded.
Appearance: With his long and lanky build, Boone is the epitome of that Western cowboy ideal. He stands at about 5’9”, an average height, and weighs 156lbs. His face is somewhat square and his features sharp, but not stark. His lips are on the thin side, but easily form a rather charming smirk when he’s amused. Eyes of icy Alice blue sit in contrast beneath dark molasses brows and an unruly cap of similarly hued hair. Boone likes to keep himself clean-shaven but at times will let the scruff go, which gives him a more rugged appearance. He is not a boy that minds getting dirty. His clothing style is straight out of Bonanza and it would be rare indeed to find Boone sans Wranglers, boots and his prized tan Stetson.
Strengths: living in the Midwest has given Boone a different outlook and attitude compared to your average East-coaster. His world has been filled with hard work and relaxed play; Kansas isn’t so much hustle and bustle. Therefore Boone has formed a very laid-back manner. He is not one to worry overly about things he knows are out of his control and takes those little “bumps in the road” in stride, knowing everything will work out as it is meant to. Of course that doesn’t imply the boy is ignorant, he just feels you lose ground trying to swim against the undertow. Boone is confident but flexible; admirable qualities, and ones that will carry him far in business should he decide to follow in his father’s trade. He firmly believes that his faith, honesty and loyalty add to his strengths. Physically he is no match against the advanced preternatural species, but as a human he is wiry and quite agile; abilities needed for his line of work and his hobbies.
Weaknesses: There are times when Boone is a bit too open, too meek. Those with the talent for it will find it doesn’t take a great deal of effort to manipulate him. Even if he does find that you’ve lied to him, Boone is big on the forgiveness. Thankfully he also believes in the “fool me once” concept; unfortunately he doesn’t always apply this first lie around. Being a people pleaser and advocate for care of those less fortunate can make him a sucker. There are times when Boone can let the world fly by which is in start contrast to those times when he becomes so wrapped up in work that he forgets to make time for his own enjoyment. As a human, he is bound by the mundane; lacking the great speed and unnatural talents of those other supernatural species.
History: Gene Kellogg Jr. and his family are born and bred Kansas stock. He did not follow in his rodeo sire’s footsteps, instead deciding to breed cattle stock for beef production. Along the way he married Nell Wills and had two sons, Reb and Boone.
As a youngster, Boone was very much into rodeo and participated in many national events as a Bareback/Saddle Bronc Rider and also in Singles and Team Tie Down Roping. Even so young he obeyed Nells’ wishes and avoided Bull Riding. He has a number of National Belts to prove his skill. He also loved the wide expanse of Kansas and the farm his father had started all on his own.
Recently, Boone’s father decided to begin crossbreeding Japanese Yagyu with Simmental and Holstein cattle. The only real problem would be that there was little call for beef as valued as Kobe in Kansas. He decided to move the family where shipping to culture rich cities like New York, Washington DC, and so forth, would open a world of opportunity for their business. All together the family decided on Maine and a nice plot of land available near the town of Aurora Heights. It was only a few months ago that Boone left the wilds of his Midwest home to a bright new future in the East; his brother Reb staying behind to run the old KF.
