Administration & Faculty
Meet the staff and administration of Aurora Heights High School.
Administration![]() Principal Howard R. Grove A former graduate of AHHS and ambitious man, he does his best for the school. He still feels the rivalry between Ashwood and Aurora Heights, so he pushes all the sports and clubs in order to try to outshine the prestigious private school. He's not seen often by students and spends a great deal of time in his office. When he does parole the halls, everyone tends to be on their best behavior. |
|
![]() Vice Principal George Pruitt A control freak of sorts,he doesn't like to think anything is beyond his control so he handles all disciplanary matters himself, not wishing to disturb Principal Grove. He does the good cop bad cop ploy with the security when talking to students and pretends to be their friend. In reality though, he just likes to keep everything in order and make a good impression. |
![]() Secretary Gloria Walburn She calls all the kids names like "sweetie" or "pumpkin", Southern born, Secretary Walburn is the most beloved of the staff. It's probably because she'll give out late excuses left and right without really needing a good excuse. She doesn't remember names well, but she treats each and every kid the same, never favoring one over the other. |
Guidance Counselors |
|
![]() Mr. Paul A. Piven Mr. Piven is quite a nice fellow with good intentions, always trying to be the "big brother" type to everyone. However, some people confuse it for being overly friendly and he was mistaken in an old school in California for sexually harrassing his students. He was cleared of the charges against him, but the damage was done. He went to Maine and got a job a Aurora Heights and is far more cautious. Many students notice how he's particularly careful and sometimes stand offish in an uncomfortable way. |
![]() Dr. Faith Moore Dr. Moore is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, period. She's heart warming and can lift the spirits of any students, so most of the really "depressed" students go visit her. She has a very addictive personality and she's a true pleasure to be around. While she is younger than the rest of the counselors, she has a better understanding of the teenage mind and offers good advice to all of those she is in charge of. Her kind nature can make her a bit of a push over though. |
![]() Mr. Marty Ibanez Marty used to be very much into the idea of being a guidance counselor, however years on the job have taught him many things, one of which is that teenagers just don't care that much. He sees a troubled youth and while he used to do his best to guide them, the years of disappointment have made a pessimist out of him. He tries not to let it get to him but his apathy grows greater with every year. However he is faithful to his job, being there everyday, whether he likes it or not. |
![]() Mrs. Regina Forsythe Mrs. Forsythe has little interest or caring for most of the students who walk through her door. She'll nod her head, pretend she cares, but the sooner you're out of her office the better! She's constantly messing up the schedules of kids because she's often daydreaming of being anywhere but the school. She only took the job because it meant she could have summers off, though she found out it's not quite how she planned it to be. She's also starting to through a messy divorce. |
English/Foreign Languages![]() AP English - Sophie Harlow Department Head Mrs. Harlow used to teach at Harvard but left in order to leave the hectic life that the school had. Ashwood immediately tried to seize upon the opportunity of having her teach there, but she declined since she wished to teach at a less populated school. So she chose Aurora Heights. She tends to pick favorites, people she thinks resembling herself whens he was younger. |
|
![]() English 11 - Ms. Maggie Silas Fresh out of college, Maggie took a little longer to get her degree because she was too busy partying. She got out though and is struggling to find a center between her youth and getting older and having to be responsible. She hails from New York so she is used to a much busier type of life. She's a bit frantic in her lessons and jumps from subject to subject. |
![]() English 12 - Mr. Henry Gibbins Obsessed with English literature and a former actor, he loves to dress up for his classes in the time period of the books they are reading, his favorite author is in fact Jane Austen. He's British born, so the accent is real and he's a favorite many kids because of his eccentric behavior and style of teaching. There's always something exciting in his class. |
![]() French - Madam Evette Hawkins Beligian born to a diplomat, Evette is well bred in culture and knows more than just French, she just knows French the best. She has a very thick accent though so her English is difficult to understand, but it doesn't matter since she tends to enforce the "French only" rule in her classroom. She is married to a lobster fisherman and gave up her life of travel. |
![]() Spanish - Senor Oscar Montero The heart throb teacher. Every girl has a crush on him and most of his classes are filled to the brim with females. He actually dating Ms. Silas, the English 11 teacher, in secret though since they could both get into trouble. He's also a Lamia vampire and one of the few staff that are Night Worlders. He is very quiet most of the time and offers little flirtations to his students just for fun. |
Mathematics![]() Trigonometry & Calculus - Mr. Carl Finney Department Head Carl was always picked on as a kid, because he was a mathlete. However, he was a great mind so he ended up going to MIT and from there graduating with high honors. However after a faulty math claim, he lost some of his credibility but was still accepted at Aurora High as a teacher. Carl still likes to try to prove that his math theory was right. |
|
![]() Algebra 1&2 - Mr. Joseph Forrester He's got good intentions, but they dont' always turn out so good. Mr. Forrester is a great teacher, only he loves story problems a little too much. He thinks that story problems are a great way to teach, so he gives lots and lots of them. Unfortunately most kids hates those. He does what he can and gives lots and lots of story problems as part of homework assignments. His class is dreaded. |
![]() Geometry - Mrs. Betsy Grace Very serious and overworked from years of stress, she used to be the department head and gave the position up as soon as Carl Finney came in. She drinks lots of coffee and Diet Coke to keep her nerves but had a nervous breakdown the previous year right after summer began. After a relaxing summer she is hoping to have a fresh start this year, though it isn't turning out that way. |
Science![]() Physics - Mr. Herbert Voyer Department Head He prefers cosmology over physics, but Herbert is good at both and unfortunately there isn't a cosmology course available at the school. Herbert studied at a small local school, hoping to transfer to a bigger one, but it never happened. He graduated with a master's in physics and ended up teaching in high school with no where else to go. |
|
![]() Biology & AP - Ms. Emma Cork Emma smells like chalk and spices, then when she talks she spits while she does it, not to mention she's abnormally into science. A lot of kids talk about her behind her back but she has absolutely no clue of this. She loves science though and tries to express that love through her teaching. She's a bit quirky and definitely weird, but she sorta grows on you after awhile. |
![]() Chemistry - Mr. Jeff Turner Jeff is definitely a weird one, bu they seem common in the Science department. He's got a passion for chemistry and likes to do experiments in the classroom that are brightly colored and flashy. Most of the fire drills are done just as a precaution for what might happen in his classroom. Mr. Turner can be a tad overwhelming at times, particularly during an expieriment. |
Social Studies |
|
![]() Current Events - Dr. Theo Hughes Department Head Dr. Hughes is all about empowering the youth of today by keeping them informed of what is going on in the world around them. His classroom is filled with motivational posters and he gets a bit preachy. Most of the time students distract him into a tangent about something random from the news to kill time and to avoid getting a homework assignment. |
![]() Civics - Mrs. Andrea Polk Andrea is getting close to her retirement so her class is relatively a breeze, since she's counting down the days till her cruise. She was known for being pretty hardcore with her class with a lot of demands and piles of homework, but ever since her last school year at AHHS began, she has slacked severely, which has caused the department head to worry. |
![]() World History - Mr. Xavier Stowe Mr. Stowe's class is quite possibly the most boring class in the entire school, possibly the entire state. It's not that he has little material to work with, but his soft and monotone voice that drags sentences leaves almost every student dead asleep. The only reason people take his class is if they want an easy "A" for the course. |
![]() American History - Mr. John Park Mr. Park is soft spoken and calm, each word controlled and precise when speaking. Impeccable English, even compared to native Americans. But when students start to talk loudly in his class, he'll shout with a force so loud that it surpises all the students, and then continue on as if nothing is wrong. |
Art & Music![]() Band - Mr. Ted Sullivan Department Head A band geek himself, Ted loves music, lives for music, and loves to create music. He's very enthusiastic and loves to attend sports games, feeling that it's the music that gets everyone pumped up. He is trained classically as well as in jazz, and likes to teach his kids a variety of styles. He's well loved among his students, though the jocks pick on him about his weight. |
|
![]() Choir - Mrs. Alice Nealson She sang opera for a bit when she realized she just wasn't cut out for it, so she went to teach high schools. With a wide range of her own, she loves a lot of modern music and prefers to use those songs over any traditional pieces. She does teach them out of obligation and requirement for any festivals or competitions they may have. |
![]() Art - Ms. Ivonna Ridge Some kids think she came from outer space, others think she fell on her head a few too many times. Regardless, Ivonna is a free spirit who believes self expression. Her artwork is mostly abstract, splashes of paint on a canvas or blocks of clay done in strange shapes or sculptures. She is always telling the kids to "Be free!" and stares off into space. |

![]() Home Ec. - Mrs. Jillian Lake Despite her motherly appearance, Jillian is a tough cookie who doesn't take lip from any student. She loves to give boys who take the class to pick up girls a hard time. She's got strong arms from beating dough and can make any meal out of scratch. She is also a skilled seamstress, all of the clothing she wears are ones she made herself. |
![]() Computers - Mrs. Monica DeWitt Bright with computers, Monica doesn't teach too many classes but she is always in the computer lab fixing one computer or another. She's also spending a great deal of time blocking websites that kids visit she doesn't deem educational. Monica also spends time in the hallway, monitoring to make sure kids are in class. |
