Aurora Heights Geography
The city holds around 12,000 residence, mostly human, although a fairly large portion happen to be Night Worlders who chose to live among humans or have been there since the city was founded. The town itself is very central. The main road is home to nearly a hundred different businesses that make the town work as a whole, complete with a town square in the center. The businesses can be found on either side of Main Street from one to two story big brick buildings. Many of the side roads that come off of Main Street have been kept brick, giving it an old time and humble feel.
Aurora Heights is best known for its fishing docks. The town is outlined by the coast and every inch is set up for various companies and restaurants that deal in seafood. Its almost like walking into Amsterdam when you walk the wooden bridges and small canals inward.
Surrounding the opposite side of town is a good sized forest complete with a large lake named Lake Pierce. Aurora Heights has a large public park called West Knott Park that was founded by Night Worlders who wanted to keep nature in balance for the benefit of all. With such lush landscape, camping is of course a popular among visitors and natives alike. In general areas of the park, it is open to the public from sunrise to sunset, with playgrounds available with swing sets and jungle gyms. There are trails throughout the park, each marked by colors on trees and regularly checked by local park police.
The camping grounds are popular during the summer months for families, with fire pits and grills available for some BBQ. The park does offer a "retreat" during the later winter months and early spring for the high school to teach about nature conservation. The camping grounds and general park area are divided by the lake, which is extremely busy during the summer with fishing and speed boats. It's truly a vision of mother nature's beauty and taken care of by the community to ensure the tourism during the summer months.
Aurora Heights Climate
Like most New England and East Coast towns, Aurora Heights has warm summers and very cold winters. Fall and Spring go by in a blur and temperatures rise and fall drastically on a daily basis. The city is beautiful all year round weather the snow is a innocent blanket over town or the sun is shining on the docks and swelling the city whole with fish.
